Chapter 9: Drunk Again

These bodyguards might be impressive against ordinary people, but Yang Yu wasn’t just anyone. With a few swift moves, he knocked them all unconscious.

He strolled leisurely to Chairman Lee Geon-hee’s hospital bed.

“Who sent you? Whatever they’re paying you, I’ll offer ten times more.”

Though frail and bedridden, Lee Geon-hee remained calm. He had weathered countless storms in his life and believed that money could solve anything. If it couldn’t, then there simply wasn’t enough of it.

Yang Yu had no intention of wasting time. He was just about to sink his teeth into Lee and turn him into a vampire when—

[Since the host’s abilities are borrowed, you cannot turn people into vampires at will. They must consent.]

The system’s sudden interruption made Yang Yu curse under his breath.

“Damn it! Why are you interfering again?”

[You can threaten him if you want.]

Yang Yu scoffed. “So as long as he agrees, it’s fine?”

[Correct. But once he becomes a vampire, he will be completely loyal to you, and you will have full control over his life and death.][Also, he won’t be able to create fourth-generation vampires.]

With that, the system vanished again.

“What kind of lousy system is this?” Yang Yu grumbled.

Other people’s systems or cheat-like mentors always worked for their benefit. But his? It was full of restrictions, forcing him to tread carefully.

Still, there was no point in arguing. He had no choice but to accept it.

Having a loyal subordinate wasn’t a bad outcome anyway—it saved him from worrying about betrayal.

He found an excuse for himself and turned to Lee Geon-hee.

“No one sent me. I came to save you. I can grant you immortality.”

Yang Yu flashed a mysterious smile.

“Immortality?” Lee scoffed. “Even ancient emperors couldn’t achieve that. You expect me to believe you?”

Yang Yu smirked coldly.

“If I wanted to kill you, it would take me no effort at all. The choice is yours—believe me or not.”

he thought.

“What’s the price?”

Lee Geon-hee hesitated. Yang Yu made a fair point—if he wasn’t here to kill him, then what was the harm in trying?

He was already on his deathbed. He had nothing to lose.

“You just have to follow my orders and work for me. Not only will you gain immortality, but you’ll also acquire abilities beyond human limits.”

“Deal!” Lee declared. “I’ve lived long enough. I don’t want to rot away in a hospital. If what you say is true, I’ll even hand you Samsung—just tell me what to do.”

Seeing his agreement, Yang Yu wasted no time. He transformed and bit him.

Half an hour later, Lee Geon-hee woke up, immediately dropped to his knees, and respectfully addressed Yang Yu.

“Master!”

Yang Yu waved him off. “I don’t want outsiders knowing our relationship. In public, just call me by my name. For now, get me a proper identity.”

“I’ll handle it immediately! How about making you the chairman of Samsung?”

“I don’t have time to deal with business nonsense. Just make me a vice chairman. Figure out an excuse, and keep it low-key.”

He only wanted a status to move around freely. As Samsung’s vice chairman, he could live as he pleased in Korea.

After giving a few more instructions, Yang Yu watched as Lee Geon-hee quickly arranged everything with a few phone calls.

Yang Yu then borrowed a laptop to re

And once again, they drank too much.

Inevitably, they ended up sleeping in the same bed.

Of course, nothing inappropriate happened.
