Chapter 1009 1009: Dying For The Third Time
Chapter 1009 1009: Dying For The Third Time
Even after serving Ju Fan for years, many of his deepest secrets still remained hidden from Meng Jueyan. She knew he possessed strange methods involving souls and life preservation from the Jiangshi he had made. She also knew he had been conducting terrifying research for years.
But she had absolutely no idea that Han Yu himself was the true mastermind behind the Ashen Moon Remnants conspiracy.
Han Yu intentionally kept that hidden.
The less she knew, the safer she would remain.
"There are things I need to accomplish," Han Yu explained calmly. "I cannot do them while trapped here."
Meng Jueyan frowned slightly.
"But abandoning your current body…"
"I am not abandoning it," Han Yu interrupted.
He looked toward the underground cultivation chambers.
"This body still has tremendous value. I simply need greater freedom."
He then explained part of his plan.
Using his soul projection and possession abilities, he intended to create a second body through revival using an Undying Life Charm anchor. His original body would remain here safely hidden within the mansion while his revived body moved freely outside.
Through soul projection he could later return and control the original body again whenever necessary.
It was an absurdly dangerous idea.
Even Meng Jueyan could tell that much.
"What if something goes wrong?" she asked worriedly.
Han Yu merely smiled faintly.
"I already prepared for that."
He then explained the teleportation array hidden within the forest and how he could use it to return quickly if his master came back unexpectedly. Only after hearing that did Meng Jueyan calm down somewhat.
Even then she still looked nervous.
Han Yu could understand why.
What he intended to do sounded insane even by Blood Sect standards. Still, he had long since crossed the point where ordinary caution mattered. Once everything was settled, Han Yu sealed himself inside his private cultivation room.
Heavy formation arrays activated around the chamber.
Concealment arrays.
Sound isolation arrays.
Qi suppression arrays.
Soul masking arrays.
One after another they layered over the room.
Then Han Yu finally began.
His spatial ring opened as materials immediately started pouring outward. Large quantities of spirit stones piled across the floor, soul nourishing herbs, blood crystals, refined flesh essence, Life preserving jade, spatial stabilizers, several prepared curse cores, dozens of strange black talismans.
And finally…
An Undying Life Charm anchor.
The small black talisman floated silently in the air while faint crimson symbols moved across its surface like living blood vessels.
Han Yu stared at it quietly.
This single item represented one of his greatest guarantees. He had prepared several of them years ago specifically for emergencies. Originally it existed merely as insurance in case he died unexpectedly.
Now though…
He intended to deliberately use it himself.
Of course this did not mean he planned to destroy his current body permanently.
That would be wasteful beyond belief.
His current body had cultivated powerful techniques for years. It possessed the Freezing Abyss Glacial Art, immense Qi reserves, strong physical cultivation and tremendous value overall.
Discarding it entirely would be idiotic.
Instead Han Yu intended something far more dangerous. He intended to revive into a second body while keeping the original alive. Under normal circumstances such a thing should have been impossible.
But Han Yu's Soul Projection abilities changed everything.
As long as his true soul remained intact and capable of moving between vessels, there was theoretically no limit to what he could attempt.
Still…
Even Han Yu himself could not guarantee success.
For the first time in many years, genuine anticipation filled his heart.
If this succeeded…
Everything would change again.
Han Yu began the process carefully.
Every preparation had already been completed beforehand. The room was sealed tightly with formation arrays while countless precious materials lay arranged around him in precise patterns. The Undying Life Charm anchor floated silently at the center of the room while dim crimson light pulsed across its surface.
Now there was only one thing left for him to do.
Suicide.
Though in Han Yu's case, it was far more complicated than simply dying.
He did not want Ju Fan's body to perish permanently.
That body still held enormous value. Years of cultivation, powerful techniques, strengthened meridians, refined flesh, curse resistance, the Freezing Abyss Glacial Art and countless other things were embedded into it already. Destroying all of that would be pure waste.
As such Han Yu first consumed several medicinal pills specifically prepared for preserving bodily vitality. Thick life force spread throughout Ju Fan's body and stabilized every organ and meridian. Even the heartbeat slowed into a deep dormant rhythm similar to hibernation.
Only after ensuring the body would remain alive did Han Yu proceed further.
He sat cross legged before the floating anchor and slowly closed his eyes.
Moments later his soul left his body.
The transparent soul form floated upward silently while Ju Fan's physical body remained seated beneath it. Han Yu had already become fully accustomed to existing in soul form after years of experimentation. The sensation no longer felt strange to him.
His soul drifted toward the Undying Life Charm anchor.
The moment he touched it, he immediately felt a connection appear. Han Yu's eyes brightened slightly as he realized his conjecture had indeed been correct. The anchor recognized him.
More specifically, it recognized his soul.
Han Yu floated there silently for several moments. Then he took a deep breath out of habit despite no longer needing to breathe and slowly pushed himself into the anchor. The sensation immediately became unbearable.
It felt as though his entire existence was being compressed into an impossibly tiny box. Pressure surrounded him from every direction while strange distortions rippled through his consciousness.
Even Han Yu almost lost focus for a moment.
Still, he endured it.
Once his soul fully entered the anchor, Han Yu forcibly activated it. Immediately both the anchor and his soul resisted violently. The Undying Life Charm clearly detected that something was wrong.
Its purpose was to revive a dead body.
Han Yu however was technically still alive. His original body remained intact and connected faintly to his soul. That connection resisted severance instinctively. Meanwhile Han Yu's own soul also resisted subconsciously since living beings naturally rejected separation from their bodies.
