Chapter 1173 Mini Drone following
Chapter 1173 Mini Drone following
The people of New Sparta shouted Reborn's name, touting their bravery and their quick action to prevent any more death and destruction. The other elites and the Upper Echelon members quickly felt the wind against them. They awkwardly retreated, afraid that the moment of the crowd would quickly grow violent.
This left the majority of the people clamoring for their exits. But most simply focused their attention on the Reborn company.
The Dragonborns became one of the most famous figures in the entirety of New Sparta, simply because the figures of Jaku, Sheina, and Umisu fighting off those monsters would forever be engrained onto many hearts.
Of course, the Clones themselves were worthy of praise. However, no matter how much adulation they got, they still remained steadfast and emotionless. Like robots. Many had begun to celebrate. They had survived a terrorist attack, after all.
But there were a few who were still worried. Unnerved at the Ersatz silent actions.
Eldea, the Heavenly Swordmistress, was one of them. She still hadn't figured out why Ersatz sicced their monstrous dogs on New Sparta. For what reason? Violence? Death?
Sure, Ersatz had proven to have the capacity for bloodshed before. But never without reason.
In fact, if they wanted to have the most blood on their hands as possible, the Epic Ersatz leader Eldea faced could have easily used his Nascent Influence to kill thousands upon thousands of mortals within a single instant.
Eldea would have countered. But if the Ersatz had done it with the element of surprise, they could have still decimated New Sparta's population by a third.
They didn't just unleash those Monsters for simply a violent reason. They did it… as a distraction.
After all, where were the other Ersatz members? Where were their zombie-like army?
They could have easily unleashed their horde of undead cultivators in New Sparta to help the Monsters in creating destruction.
But they didn't. As soon as they had spread that Nascent Influence back in the Colosseum, they disappeared.
Perhaps, that was the reason why the Monsters were unleashed. They wanted to mask the movements and actions of their army while Eldea dealt with the problems here in New Sparta.
But then… for what? What were they trying to hide? She didn't yet understand.
She looked up and shared a silent glance with Gourdon and Wadeby. Two of the only Upper Echelon companies who she could trust. They hated the Ersatz as well as she did.
They nodded at her implication. Then, secretly, they contacted their spies to spread out and search for any Ersatz activity in the area.
"We have a lot to do," Eldea said as she looked far in the distance.
They may have solved the problem in New Sparta. But there were still a few threads they needed to resolve.
For example… Huntrax.
After messaging a warning to Eldea, the Heavenly Shooter had yet to return any of her messages. She had asked where he was, how he was doing, and if he needed any help as soon as they defeated the Monsters.
But there weren't any replies as of yet.
Huntrax was a Heavenly Knight. He should be able to take care of himself. But there was just something weird with the Ersatz movements nowadays. They had to be on guard at all times.
"We must mount a search and rescue for Huntrax. I have a bad feeling about this," Eldea said to everyone.
The Knights of the order, those who had come back from the Garisson and those who had stayed behind in New Sparta immediately marched into order.
Even those who had been injured strived to put themselves in even more harm's way just so that they could retrieve their Master.
"Swordmistress. Please deploy me."
A voice came out, and it's none other than Arthur Lionheart. His uniform was in disarray, body bleeding and injured. But it was the look on his face that made him look completely broken.
He longed to prove himself. He had completely failed to save the citizens of New Sparta against the Monsters.
Even though he was supposed to be the strongest Swordsman. Even though he was supposed to be the Heavenly Swordmistress' student, poised to inherit her mantle… he had completely been powerless to do anything.
And in comparison, Jaku had completely outshone him. He had defeated four of those Monsters, while he couldn't even injure a single one.
The other Swordsmen from the exhibition tournament offered their help as well.
Even some of the Beastfolks had offered their help. Usually, they would stay away from the problems of humans, but their gratefulness for the Reborn company had made them wanting to participate in a rescue.
"Wait," Eldea said, suddenly remembering something. "What about your leader? Michael? Where is he?"
Sheina took charge for the Dragonborns. "Lord Michael is currently with Huntrax," she said.
And with that revelation, Eldea, Gourdon, and Wadeby were completely shocked.
"What do you mean?" Eldea asked.
Sheina smiled, a hint of pride on her face. "He is currently trying to help Huntrax escape from the prison he is in."
Silence reigned among them. They could not believe what the Dragonborn had just said.
First, they never even thought that Huntrax was taken as a prisoner! And second, what did she mean when she said that Michael was going to help him escape?
It didn't make sense. After all, if someone was strong enough to capture a Heavenly Knight, then how would a child be able to solve that?
"Can you tell us more about this? This is dangerous. We can't have Michael endangering himself. If Huntrax really is imprisoned, then we must use the best of our abilities to plan his escape.
Anything less than that and we would risk endangering both of them."
Sheina smiled, preventing herself from scoffing. "Lord Michael said that he would take care of it."
And that was all the reason she needed not to panic. That was the reason why she hadn't told anyone about this in the first place.
After all, Michael told her he'd take care of it. No reason not to think otherwise. She completely trusted him to complete the job.
…
…
…
Right before the start of the catastrophe that befell New Sparta, Michael was able to sense it first.
He had his Mini Drones flying all over the place. Everywhere. So, he was able to sense the weird energy that was going around in New Sparta. He was able to see the moment when the Erstaz members used some kind of teleportation magic to unleash the Monsters in the Colosseum and everywhere else.
Now, he would have stayed and helped with defeating the monsters.
But then, he noticed something. Well, ChatJK6 noticed something.
She noticed that Huntrax had disappeared from sight.
Yes, he had a Mini Drone following him around. Of course, following was a big word. He was actually a few kilometers away from Huntrax and basically just trailed him from that far away.
Thankfully, his Supreme Talent allowed him to do so. All he needed to do was follow the great pillar of energy that Huntrax emanated automatically. He was a Heavenly Knight, after all. He was at the peak of his power. Michael would be blind if he didn't see that.
And at the moment when the Monsters were unleashed in New Sparta, he saw something ridiculous.
An arrow in the skies. Spanning the entire length of the mountain ranges ahead of it. The power and magnitude that this arrow emanated was something that made Michael's heart palpitate. It was a Nascent Influence. So compact and so condensed that it had materialized into reality.
He had no doubt that this arrow could pierce through the Earth with no problem.
But strangely, this arrow started to waver. It wasn't until he drew his Mini Drone closer that he realized that small wisps of shadows had taken ahold of this arrow, tearing it apart from the inside.
This gigantic battle created gusts of winds and fury of rains that would make anyone think they were in the middle of an apocalypse.
And Michael was already a few kilometers away from the scene.
He could tell that whoever was fighting here had limited their scope of powers in order not to affect the environment any longer. But still it did.
Huntrax was fighting an opponent. An opponent that matched him in power and Aubility.
A power that rivaled a Heavenly Knight?
There were only a handful of people who had that kind of power. And one in particular, was considered to be the main driving force for the Ersatz movement.
The Grandmaster. It had to be him.
Of course, Michael was not so stupid as to put himself in the middle of this fight. He'd die.
So, he'd wait. He'd wait and see.
He didn't have to wait long. The arrow shattered in half, sending bits of heavenly golden lights flickering and dissipating in the wind.
Then, he saw Huntrax's power signature move.
Michael followed.
